The first Festival was held in 1993.

OVER TWO DECADES of its existence, Curtas Vila do Code has become increasingly committed to cinema and its most innovative, diversified, artistic and independent filmmakers and artists.

THE FESTIVAL brings together film directors, professionals, artists, journalists, students and an enthusiastic audience for a week where creativity, talent, spirit, wit and art take the lead.

CURTAS VILA DO CONDE has become more ambitious over the last few years and widened its scope by including music videos, multimedia installations, and other art forms that increasingly overlap short film.

EVERY YEAR, through thoughtful, cutting edge programming, Curtas Vila do Conde provides a wide selection of ground-breaking films and works on its competitions, retrospectives, theme sections, premières, special programmes, exhibitions and concerts.
